I have come across a great website called 99fiction where the editor publishes mini flash fiction pieces and short poetry of 99 words or less.
It has been fun trying to make my writing concise enough to fit the criteria and is something that, I think, every writer should try.
They have kindly published two of my pieces over the past few weeks.

I’d love it if you would have a wander over there and check them out. There are some really good creepy pieces on the site too. Have a read of this little gem *shudders* http://99fiction.tumblr.com/post/33829769777/lips-by-david-hartley
I have the pleasure of working with some great people co-editing the poetry submissions for Indigo Rising UK Magazine
Please do send any poetry, prose, flash fiction or art to us at the following addresses:
Submissions can be up to 2500 words. We will make exceptions based on the quality of the piece. We are looking for high quality, literary pieces as long as they are creative and original.
Submission no longer than 750 words. We are looking for inspiring, original pieces of fiction.
Submit up to six poems at a time, no longer than forty lines each. Any forms are fine. Subject matter can be anything. Originality is important.
We are looking for abstract, authentic and surreal art and photography. Pieces that have a personal touch and generate deeper understandings.
Look forward to hearing from you! 🙂
I have been given the amazing opportunity to work along side a small publishing press called Stairwell Books.
Stairwell Books are based in York and publish some great poetry anthologies and are now branching out in to novels. I have the honour of helping with the growth of this great publishing company and would urge you to check out their website and purchase a book or two…or three…or more! They are great value for money and exhibit work from popular local writers.
I have been lucky enough to have appeared in Along The Iron Veins – a collection of railway/train themed poems and short stories. I also highly recommend Frisson – for those who like their poetry a little more tantalising and erotic. They also publish the fabulous Dream Catcher magazine and you can order your copy through their website as well.
You can find details of Stairwell Books and their publications at their website http://www.stairwellbooks.co.uk/
